Handmade Boys & Girls Clothes

I hope that everyone had a nice Easter. Ours was wonderful. We had my husband's family over and the kids always have so much fun with them. The wonderful thing about family the house doesn't have to be perfect. They love you regardless. Good thing!!
I did splurge this weekend, in the name of love, I ate most of my kids' Easter candy, to make sure my daughter does not eat it!! I am such a nice mommy!!

Onto the point of my post... I wanted to show off some clothes I made for my kiddos for Spring Pictures. This is not their Easter outfits but some Spring/Summer clothes. I was bound and determined to make my son some clothes while he is still young and does not know any better. So here is my first outfit I've made for my little man, Wesley. First thing he does...plays with a fountain and gets wet. Little boys can't resist water!!

Then here is his sister's coordinating dress. Pillowcase dress with yellow flower trim and yellow ribbon.

Here are my two angels together. Best shot I got of the two of them together!! I tried!
The whole story: I made Lawson's dress about a week ago. I knew what I wanted to make Wesley, but did not start it until Thursday. In typical Maridth fashion I didn't finish the elastic, and hems until Friday night 9PM. (These pictures were taken Saturday morning) I never got a chance to try them on him, so the shorts are a little long. Oh well, he can grow into them!! The next thing I am going to do is have both of the outfits monogrammed with their names in yellow!! One day...

Here is my whole family. All wearing black and white!! Catching on to my theme???

A black & white kitchen and now clothing too, you certainly do have a theme goin' on! I am jealous of how lovely the flowers look. I'm glad you had a wonderful day!

So cute! Love the pillow case dress with the yellow ribbons. My mom made our clothes (even my brother) for quite awhile when we were young. Do it while you can (and because you have the ability to!) Sadly, I don't have that "gift", so I often put in a call to my mom to help a daughter (non-sewer) out!

Glad you had a wonderful Easter and I laughed a little about the part where you ate the candy so your daughter wouldn't. Sounds like me!!

I would love to be able to sew! (I am a fabric and a glue gun kind of girl...) Your kids are adorable!!!!
Happy Easter!
(And I pilfer my kids' candy too. The sooner it's eaten, the sooner it's gone.)
